This is a personal piece; it’s a digital illustration that was created using the app Procreate. The inspiration for this illustration came from seeing a classmate thinking she cut her finger only to realize that instead of blood, it was actually a ladybug. Using this as the basis, this piece in a reflection on what comes after pain and the process of healing. The piece was submitted to my college’s art & literature magazine, The Colton Review, for the 16th volume & received an award for Best in Show from the juror of the art section, Marius Valdes.
